What you will do

• Lead circuit-level design, simulation, and troubleshooting for diverse power converter applications.
• Direct small project teams to deliver complex electronics hardware.
• Perform magnetic circuit analysis including transformers, inductors, and ferrite materials.
• Conduct thermal design and select appropriate cooling systems for power electronics components.
• Manage electro-magnetic interference and susceptibility during the design process.
• Develop and execute prototype testing hardware and verification methods.

Requirements

• Must be based in Blacksburg, VA or willing to relocate.
• Must have access to U.S. export-controlled information (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident).
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in power electronics design.
• Proficiency in circuit simulation tools like PSIM or MATLAB.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and apply them to system requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with ANSYS Maxwell or similar magnetic simulation software.
• Knowledge of wide bandgap semiconductor applications.
