Propulsion Test Software Engineer

Propulsion Test Software Engineer: Developing and maintaining data processing software and data acquisition systems for rocket engines, propulsion systems, and propellant tanks with an accent on LabVIEW systems, UI/UX design, and instrumentation integration. Focus on hot fire data setup, reduction, analysis, troubleshooting instrumentation, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Location: Onsite – Niagara Falls, NY. Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required. This position requires a full physical which includes bloodwork and Pulmonary Function testing.

Salary: $75,000–$120,000 Annually (Niagara Falls, NY)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain software for hot fire data setup, reduction, and analysis.
• Maintain existing data acquisition systems using LabVIEW, including software and hardware components.
• Occasionally develop new data acquisition systems.
• Provide assistance to cross-functional engineering groups and test/instrumentation technicians.
• Assist with instrumentation setup and troubleshooting.
• Work with project and product engineering to interpret and troubleshoot data output.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred Software, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related) with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in OOP languages such as C++, C#, Python, including UI/UX design for engineering and technician use.
• Experience with JIRA or similar, and source control like GitHub, TortoiseSVN.
• Experience with data acquisition hardware (LabVIEW, Astromed, DEWEsoft) or willingness to learn.
• Experience writing software in LabVIEW or willingness to learn.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation (pressure transducers, load cells, flow meters, temperature sensors).
• Strong communication skills for interfacing with technicians, facilities, and engineering.
