Backend Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Must be based in Stockholm, with an expectation to work from the office on Kungsgatan 32 at least 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Lead the full engineering lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
• Design and evolve APIs and backend services that support core product functionality at scale.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and operational tooling to ensure long-term platform health.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to contribute to high-impact features and AI-powered data insights.
• Drive improvements to engineering best practices, code quality, and infrastructure automation.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in web application development.
• Strong expertise in Node.js and backend architecture design.
• Experience with cloud hosting and selecting optimal data storage solutions.
• Ability to collaborate across the stack for end-to-end product ownership.
• Strong communication skills and a bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Must be located in Stockholm and comfortable with a hybrid work model.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a startup or with SaaS products.
• Proficiency with Firebase, Firestore, or BigQuery.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and reliability engineering.
