TL;DR

Underwriter, Programs (Finance): Managing a portfolio of MGA and Affinity programs with an accent on growth strategy, profitability, and underwriting operations. Focus on analyzing program performance, referral management, and building strong relationships with brokers and reinsurers.

Location: Must be based in Toronto, Canada (Hybrid)

Salary: CAD 75,000 - CAD 110,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive growth, profitability, and retention within the programs portfolio.
• Review and analyze monthly program reports to ensure operational health.
• Manage referrals and oversee day-to-day underwriting activities.
• Foster and maintain excellent relationships with MGAs, reinsurers, and brokers.
• Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of Property/Casualty Underwriting experience.
• Must be located in or commute to the Toronto office.
• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• High School diploma required; College degree preferred.
