What you will do

• Lead tooling efforts across the stack, including build systems, CI, CLI tools, and internal web UIs.
• Develop internal tools for exploring datasets, labeling data, and tracking data inventory.
• Improve the ergonomics of data infrastructure, focusing on IO patterns in Ray and dataflow jobs.
• Identify engineering bottlenecks by engaging with the team and resolving technical pain points.
• Establish and maintain high standards for code organization, packaging, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• Must be based in San Francisco for daily office attendance.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and deep expertise in tooling design.
• Prior experience with data engineering pipelines.
• Genuine care for developer experience and code maintainability.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on understanding team needs.
• Bias toward action and proactive problem-solving.
