TL;DR

People Operations Specialist (AI): Managing HR operations, Workday system integrity, and payroll controls within a scaling tech organization with an accent on operational governance and process automation. Focus on streamlining onboarding, contingent workforce compliance, and integrating AI-enabled workflows to optimize HR infrastructure.

Location: Hybrid role, must be based in or able to work from Phoenix, AZ (2-3 days per week in-office)

What you will do

  • Manage end-to-end US onboarding and offboarding operations within Workday.
  • Govern the global contingent workforce lifecycle, including contractor compliance and classification risk management.
  • Lead payroll audit validations and implement maker-checker controls for compensation data.
  • Maintain core HCM data integrity and validate integrations between HRIS, Finance, and IT systems.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities using AI tools to streamline ticketing and reporting workflows.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Systems, or People Operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Core HCM is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of US compliance regulations (I-9, EEO-1, audit controls).
  • Experience working with payroll teams and compensation workflows.
  • Proficiency with ticketing systems like Jira and strong data analysis skills.
  • Proven ability to integrate AI tools into daily workflows to increase productivity.

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-growth or pre-IPO companies.
  • Background in building or improving payroll governance frameworks and SOPs.
  • Cross-functional experience across HRIS, Finance, and IT.
