What you will do

• Develop and deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed Math lesson plans for diverse student groups.
• Provide small group, differentiated instruction tailored to varying English language acquisition levels.
• Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust curriculum design.
• Maintain detailed records of student performance, work samples, and final report cards.
• Guide peer mentors in the classroom to support student learning and emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and the Dean of Instruction on instructional planning and program goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in math education or a related field required.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in an accredited school system.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver sheltered instruction to diverse English Language Learners.
• Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken English required.
• Ability to undergo background checks and potential fingerprinting.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in math education.
• New York State teaching certification.
• Experience with project-based learning.
• Proficiency in a second language such as Arabic, Dari, Farsi, French, Spanish, or Ukrainian.
• Certification in Responsive Classrooms or Classroom Mindfulness.
