TL;DR

Attorney (Legaltech): Advising senior management on global laws and regulations, including online safety frameworks with an accent on multi-stakeholder regulatory compliance strategies. Focus on providing legal analysis of legislative and regulatory drafts to the Public Policy team and responding to global regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Location: Open to multiple locations across North America (including CA, NYC, & WA). If based outside of North America, the willingness and ability to consistently work US Eastern time zone hours.

Salary: New York City Base Pay Range $234,492 — $343,922 USD; California Base Pay Range $234,492 — $343,922 USD; Washington Base Pay Range $214,952 — $315,262 USD

What you will do

• Advise Epic senior management, Product Counsel, the Compliance Team and Legal leadership on key global laws and regulations, including online safety frameworks.
• Lead multi-stakeholder regulatory compliance strategies.
• Provide legal analysis of legislative and regulatory drafts to the Public Policy team.
• Support advocacy and engagement with regulators and trade associations.
• Respond to global regulatory inquiries and investigations.

Requirements

• A qualified attorney with at least 8 years of experience working in regulatory compliance, either within a regulatory body, in-house or at a law firm.
• If based outside of North America, the willingness and ability to consistently work US Eastern time zone hours.
• Experience handling regulatory enforcement actions brought by regulatory bodies.
• Prior work and/or substantial knowledge of the tech industry; a good working knowledge of tech or video games is an advantage.
• An individual who is comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, driving high-risk/impact projects, and working and making sound judgments and decisions in ambiguous situations where clear guidance is lacking or may not exist.
• Must be able to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of individuals and teams.
