What you will do

• Lead technical direction across multiple teams, ensuring high-level architecture is scalable and resilient.
• Champion AI-first adoption by evaluating coding agents and establishing patterns for agent-directed development.
• Maintain hands-on involvement through code contributions, prototyping, and architectural validation.
• Solve complex technical challenges across distributed systems while balancing performance and maintainability.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to align technical strategy with commercial business outcomes.
• Mentor lead and senior engineers to elevate organizational technical capabilities and design standards.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Australia or New Zealand.
• 15+ years of experience leading and delivering large-scale web applications.
• Proven track record managing complex, cross-team projects from design to release.
• Strong experience with AI-assisted engineering workflows and multi-agent (swarm) orchestration.
• Skilled at solving ambiguous, large-scale technical problems with data-informed analysis.
• Demonstrated success in growing the technical skills of senior and lead-level engineers.
