TL;DR

QA Tester (Gamedev): Testing current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games with an accent on finding, documenting, and prioritizing bugs. Focus on maintaining test plans, test cases, and documentation on testing procedures.

Location: Must work from our office five days per week in New Westminster, British Columbia

Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 CAD per year

hirify.global Industries is an independent studio behind the successful military first-person shooter game, “Squad”, and is expanding into serving as a publisher supporting mods and has just announced their upcoming title "Starship Troopers: Extermination".

What you will do

• Smoke testing and sanity testing new features and bugfixes.
• Finding bugs, documenting them, prioritizing them and finding reproduction steps for them.
• Maintaining a complete and up-to-date list of all known bugs and issues and their progress.
• Creating and analyzing performance profiles for client, GPU, server and network performance.
• Creating and maintaining Testrail test plans and test cases.
• Writing and maintaining documentation on testing procedures and workflows.

Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Analytical mindset with the ability to deconstruct problems and develop effective testing strategies.
• Methodical with discipline to provide complete coverage and collaborate with others.
• Proactive and flexible with a ‘have a go’ attitude to getting the job done.
• Flexible to shift gears as workloads vary, with occasional requests outside office hours.

Nice to have

• Experience in game testing.
• High level of gaming knowledge and passion for Squad and/or other military-themed FPS games.
• Familiarity with the Software Development Production Pipeline.
• Strong knowledge of Jira or other bug tracking software and Testrail or other test case tracking software.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine.
• Fluent in Mandarin.
