Advanced Quality Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hybrid workplace model with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office.

Salary: $70,000–$80,000 per year, plus incentive pay.

What you will do

• Develop test strategies, plans, and cases for complex features and systems.
• Lead risk assessments and participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and sprint planning.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing.
• Design and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for UI, API, and backend services.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and improve quality standards, metrics, and processes.
• Analyze defect root causes, collaborate with engineering and product teams, communicate test results, and mentor junior SQA analysts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or test engineering.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, QA methodologies, API testing, and tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, Postman, SoapUI, or REST-Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems, including Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, data validation, and software testing processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• ISTQB, CSQA, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or cloud certifications.
