Software Engineer, Infrastructure (AI): Designing and building core data infrastructure platforms for high-performance ML model training with an accent on multi-cloud support, scalability, and deployment reliability. Focus on architecting robust systems, empowering engineering productivity, and solving complex infrastructure challenges across the stack.

Location: Must be based in or relocate to Redwood City, CA. The role is onsite 4 days a week.

Salary: $180,000–$300,000

What you will do

• Design and build development and production platforms to ensure reliability and security at scale.
• Architect, build, and deploy core infrastructure across multiple cloud providers.
• Develop tooling and systems to accelerate internal engineering productivity.
• Partner with researchers and engineers to bring new features and capabilities to customers.
• Debug complex problems across the stack, including networking, performance, hardware, and memory issues.

Requirements

• Meaningful experience in spearheading and constructing large-scale infrastructure.
• Proficiency in bash, Kubernetes, Python, and Terraform or similar technologies.
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-prem environments.
• Expertise in debugging complex cross-stack performance and reliability issues.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end with a proactive and humble attitude.

Nice to have

• Experience building data infrastructure from scratch at a fast-growing startup.
• Experience building ML/DL infrastructure that feeds into training large models.
