What you will do

• Own the end-to-end software platform architecture including embedded firmware, Linux devices, cloud pipelines, and web applications.
• Architect with future commercialization needs in mind, enabling integration with hospital EMR systems and scalable AI model deployment.
• Lead quality and compliance efforts ensuring adherence to medical device standards and patient safety.
• Write and review code, debug hardware-software integration, and configure CI/CD pipelines as a hands-on technical leader.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers fostering technical excellence and psychological safety.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate product and clinical goals into engineering specifications aligned with regulatory plans.

Requirements

• Must be located on-site in Palo Alto, California, USA
• 10+ years software engineering experience with 4+ years as Technical Lead or Architect for complex distributed systems.
• Proven experience delivering regulated medical device software (IEC 62304 Class B/C) through full lifecycle including FDA submissions.
• Proficiency in Rust, C++, Go, Python, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience designing HIPAA/GDPR-compliant systems ensuring data security and privacy.

Nice to have

• Experience with SaMD commercialization and scaling.
• Hands-on EHR/EMR integration using HL7 or FHIR standards.
• Cybersecurity expertise in PKI, device authentication, or threat modeling.
• Cardiology domain knowledge including ECG workflows or physiological monitoring.
