What you will do

• Define the application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of senior engineers.
• Drive architectural decisions for AI-powered product workflows, API design, and client integrations.
• Partner with ML leadership to transform model capabilities into shippable, reliable user features.
• Establish operational excellence regarding observability, monitoring, latency, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure clear technical ownership and prevent architectural drift across the application stack.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
• Strong background in building and shipping production-level backend services.
• Experience delivering AI-powered products with deep understanding of integration trade-offs.
• Expertise in system design across services, APIs, and client platforms.
• Ability to make high-impact technical decisions under conditions of ambiguity.
• Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Palo Alto, California.
