What you will do
- Define the application engineering strategy across backend, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of senior engineers.
- Drive architectural decisions for AI-powered product workflows, API design, and client integrations.
- Partner with ML leadership to transform model capabilities into shippable, reliable user features.
- Establish operational excellence regarding observability, monitoring, latency, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure clear technical ownership and prevent architectural drift across the application stack.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading application or product engineering for complex systems.
- Strong background in building and shipping production-level backend services.
- Experience delivering AI-powered products with deep understanding of integration trade-offs.
- Expertise in system design across services, APIs, and client platforms.
- Ability to make high-impact technical decisions under conditions of ambiguity.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in Palo Alto, California.
