What you will do

• Define the machine learning roadmap and technical strategy while building a high-performing AI/ML team.
• Partner with Engineering to design and implement scalable ML infrastructure and data warehousing solutions.
• Contribute hands-on to critical model development, evaluation, and production debugging.
• Translate complex clinical needs and requirements into actionable technical roadmaps.
• Collaborate across clinical, product, and engineering teams to ensure measurable clinical impact.
• Communicate technical model performance and strategy to non-technical stakeholders and investors.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in the United States.
• Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience shipping ML products and 3+ years in a leadership role at early-stage startups.
• Deep expertise in production ML systems, real-time prediction, and performance evaluation.
• Proven record of scaling data science teams in scrappy, resource-constrained environments.
• Experience in healthcare or similarly regulated industries with high-stakes decision-making.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with clinical data standards such as HL7, FHIR, or EHR systems.
• Strong background in data platform architecture (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift).
• Track record of research publications or contributions to the broader ML community.
