What you will do

• Lead the transition of experimental scripts into robust, production-grade software architecture.
• Design scalable frameworks and data pipelines for the performance optimization stack.
• Elevate engineering maturity through best practices in code quality, automated testing, and API design.
• Develop critical infrastructure and backend services that integrate ML models with hardware control systems.
• Act as a technical bridge between the optimization team and other engineering groups.
• Mentor ML engineers and physicists on software engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in Software Engineering with complex backend production systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python.
• Deep understanding of software design patterns, API architecture, and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience with full software lifecycle including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex trade-offs to non-software experts.
• Ability to drive technical consensus and act as an architectural anchor within the team.

Nice to have

• Education in physics or professional experience working with physicists.
• Industry experience with Machine Learning modeling, evaluation, and inference.
• Hands-on experience with functional programming or scientific computing, specifically JAX on GPUs.
• Demonstrated zero-to-one mindset for delivering stable solutions in ambiguous environments.
