Senior Product Architect (CA 7 Distributed Components): Leading the architecture and evolution of distributed components of CA 7 Workload Automation with an accent on REST APIs, Observability (OpenTelemetry), Web UI, and distributed agent ecosystem. Focus on building a modern, API-first, event-driven control plane that integrates mainframe scheduling with distributed systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise observability tools.

Location: Based out of our Plano site.

Salary: $127,100 - $203,400

What you will do

• Define and drive the architecture of CA 7 distributed components, including APIs, observability services, agents, and UI platforms.
• Design and develop scalable, resilient REST API services and microservices-based components.
• Lead architecture for OpenTelemetry-based observability pipelines, enabling real-time streaming of workload events to enterprise platforms.
• Guide development teams in building high-quality, testable, and maintainable code aligned with modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate across global teams to ensure architectural consistency and alignment across distributed components.
• Mentor and coach engineers, helping elevate team capabilities in system design and modern development practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or global equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in software development or a related field, with significant experience in distributed systems architecture and technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
• Experience in Observability frameworks (OpenTelemetry or similar).
• Experience in JavaScript and modern UI frameworks (React preferred).
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Mainframe systems (z/OS, scheduling) and hybrid architectures is a plus.
