AWS Solutions Architect

TL;DR

AWS Solutions Architect (Cloud): Designing, documenting, and guiding the implementation of secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions with an accent on FinOps, architectural integrity, and cross-team alignment. Focus on creating end-to-end solution flows, transforming complex legacy environments to cloud-native architectures, and ensuring nonfunctional requirements are met across a heterogeneous technology landscape.

Location: Hybrid / Onsite role in the US (Newark, NJ; Phoenix, AZ; Andover, MA; Edgewood, NY; Kansas City, MO). Travel: Occasional travel required for planning sessions and stakeholder meetings.

Salary: $160,000–$180,000 USD annual

What you will do

• Design end-to-end AWS architectures including multi-account landing zones, serverless, and microservices.
• Analyze heterogeneous technology environments to document current-state and define robust target-state architectures.
• Create high-quality solution flows and architecture diagrams using Visio.
• Collaborate with business, security, and engineering stakeholders to translate technical tradeoffs into business outcomes.
• Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and FinOps practices.
• Guide delivery teams through implementation to ensure architectural consistency and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture or cloud architecture.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Proven experience delivering production systems on AWS.
• Ability to create clear architecture diagrams and solution flows using Visio.
• Strong understanding of nonfunctional requirements: security, compliance, reliability, and cost-optimization.
• Experience aligning business and technical stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional preferred).
• Experience with regulated environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA).
• Background in enterprise integration patterns (event-driven systems, APIs).
• Exposure to data engineering and analytics platforms.
