Tools Programmer (Gamedev): Developing and maintaining an in-house audio toolset to support the creation and implementation of audio assets found in-game with an accent on collaboration with the Audio and Rockstar Tools teams. Focus on optimizing user workflows and driving the adoption of modern UI standards within the toolset.

Location: This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain an in-house audio toolset.
• Collaborate with the Audio team and the wider Rockstar Tools team.
• Maintain awareness of relevant technologies and modern UI standards.
• Balance meeting short-term user needs with long-term development of the audio tool suite.
• Identify opportunities to optimize user workflows.

Requirements

• A degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Excellent .NET/C# skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a mixed-discipline team.
• Ability to work within a schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines.

Nice to have

• An interest in games and interactive sound/music.
• Familiarity with commercial audio content creation software.
• Experience of intuitive user interface design and implementation for complex data.
• Knowledge of audio synthesis and DSP.
• C++ experience.
• WPF experience.
