TL;DR

Analyst II, CDD (Fintech): Conducting high-quality due diligence reviews to ensure the authenticity of fundraisers, campaign organizers, and beneficiaries with an accent on verifying identities and KYC/B information, reviewing fundraisers for indicators of fraud or financial crime. Focus on enforcing compliance while maintaining a safe and trusted platform for the community.

Location: Sydney, AU. Work well with a distributed global workforce and confidently maintain communication while working autonomously in a remote or hybrid environment.

What you will do

  • Apply established risk-based methodologies to review identity verification results and supporting documentation to confirm customer identity and authenticity of fundraisers and beneficiaries.
  • Conduct CDD and KYC reviews in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform sanctions and watchlist screening and identify potential Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), adverse media, or other risk indicators requiring further review.
  • Review fundraiser, account, and transactional attributes for indicators of fraud, abuse, or financial crime using established risk signals, and escalate concerns according to defined procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Payments Risk, Content Risk, Legal, Customer Care, and Compliance, to resolve due diligence inquiries.
  • Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and operational initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness and scalability of the CDD program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years experience working in the payments or compliance industry and knowledge about merchant processing behaviors.
  • Knowledge of global customer due diligence, AML, CTF, sanctions, beneficial ownership requirements, Know Your Customer standards, and how these apply for a merchant and the wider financial ecosystem.
  • Empathetic and customer-focused, with the ability to balance risk mitigation and positive user experience.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, with C1 English proficiency.
  • Adaptable to structured schedules and support coverage needs, including occasional holiday shifts as part of team operations.
