Backend Engineer

What you will do

• Contribute to the development of backend systems for the PlayStation platform.
• Support the design and implementation of platform services in collaboration with other developers and teams.
• Build and maintain scalable services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, including unit tests.
• Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development.
• Direct experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and general web service principles.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks or Server-Side Rendering (SSR) tools such as Next.js.
• Coursework or exposure to software testing, data structures, or distributed systems concepts.
• Familiarity with other Server Side Languages
