What you will do

• Build the recruiting function from scratch, designing and implementing the tools, processes, brand, and training to scale hiring.
• Own full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, assessing, selling, and closing candidates across technical (AI/ML/Eng) and operations roles.
• Execute searches hands-on while building the roadmap for a future team.
• Improve speed and quality by shortening time-to-fill, tracking funnel metrics, and instilling rigor into every stage of hiring.
• Champion candidate experience by protecting the brand, ensuring fast response times, and running a respectful, engaging process.

Requirements

• Proven full-cycle recruiting experience, especially in technical roles.
• Startup experience, ideally as a founding or first recruiter.
• San Francisco market familiarity, including strong local networks and understanding of compensation standards.
• Demonstrated scrappy sourcing skills.
• Strong closing skills, with the ability to handle competitive offers and tailor sell-stories to candidate motivations.
• Comfort recruiting AI/ML talent.
• Excellent written & verbal communication with low ego and high EQ.
• Ability to operate in-person with the team in SF.
