Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Based at client locations, working remotely, or based in the Godalming or Milton Keynes offices. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and have been UK residents for at least five years to be eligible for minimum SC clearance.

Salary: Up to £80,000 per year, plus company benefits.

What you will do

• Design and maintain secure architecture patterns aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Embed Secure by Design principles and security controls throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Lead threat modelling exercises, including STRIDE and attack trees, and define mitigations.
• Assess and mitigate security risks across systems, applications, and infrastructure.
• Provide security governance and assurance across projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Collaborate with clients, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders on secure solution design.

Requirements

• Experience as a Security Architect or in a senior security role within complex environments.
• Practical experience with Secure by Design, threat modelling, and risk analysis.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, OWASP, NCSC guidance, and government security policies.
• Experience in the UK public sector, including GovAssure, NCSC CAF, and the HMG Security Policy Framework.
• Knowledge of cloud security across AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus identity and access management, encryption, network security, and secure application design.
• Eligibility for minimum SC clearance, including at least five years of UK residency and the right to work in the UK.

Nice to have

• Degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the role.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, or SABSA.
