Head of Information Security (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Design and execute the zero-trust security roadmap, policies, risk assessments, and executive and board reporting.
• Own audit readiness and certification programs for SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, and NIST 800-53.
• Embed DevSecOps and secure SDLC practices into CI/CD pipelines, including oversight of penetration testing, red teaming, and threat modeling.
• Act as the technical security authority for customer procurement reviews, vendor risk assessments, and defense customer evaluations.
• Build internal incident response, continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and employee security awareness capabilities.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of cybersecurity experience in roles such as Lead Security Architect, SecOps Lead, or Security Director.
• Deep operational expertise in zero-trust architectures, AWS or GCP cloud security, container isolation, cryptography, and network security.
• Experience leading a high-growth technology company through SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 certification from start to finish.
• Strong ability to connect technical security requirements with business strategy for executives, developers, and defense customers.
• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent hands-on security engineering experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with government procurement, defense security frameworks, or public-sector standards.
• Knowledge of hardware security primitives, confidential computing, isolated enclaves, or secure communication protocols.
• Background in venture-backed, hyper-growth companies or defense and intelligence security engineering teams.
• Active UK Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to undergo clearance checks.
• Engagement with security conferences and research communities such as DEF CON, Black Hat, BSides, or Chaos Communication Congress.
