Information Security Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Manchester or London, United Kingdom; hybrid with a minimum of 50% of working time per month in the office. New team members initially work full-time in the office.

What you will do

• Design, deliver and continuously improve enterprise security solutions across endpoint, cloud, network, DevOps and security monitoring environments.
• Implement secure infrastructure controls focused on scalability, resilience, automation and operational effectiveness.
• Evaluate and implement security tools and platforms, integrating them into the wider technology estate.
• Coordinate patch management, server hardening and secure configuration initiatives with Infrastructure and Service Delivery teams.
• Provide security oversight for projects and change initiatives from design through delivery.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, due diligence and continuous improvement of cybersecurity risk management.

Requirements

• Proven experience implementing enterprise security platforms and significant experience in IT security.
• Strong knowledge of security risk management tools and techniques, core IT and networking principles, and the evolving threat landscape.
• Practical understanding of SIEM, PAM, IGA, endpoint protection, and email and web gateways.
• Experience with ISO 27001, NIST or similar security frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, communication and end-to-end delivery skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid model from the Manchester or London office, with at least 50% office attendance per month.

Nice to have

• Experience with firewall technologies and cloud security standards and solutions.
• Financial services or e-commerce experience.
• CISSP certification, achieved or in progress.
