Python Software Engineer (Marketplaces)

Location: Hybrid in Utrecht, Netherlands (minimum 2 days in office). Must have EU citizenship or a valid work permit for the Netherlands.

Compensation: €3,900–€5,400 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance, performance bonus, and stock options.

What you will do

• Contribute to Python-based backend components and support new marketplace APIs.
• Design, develop, and test new product features with high engineering standards.
• Review PRs and collaborate with product managers to define requirements.
• Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance of the main application.
• Take ownership of feature implementation from initial design to production delivery.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and DevOps teams on system architecture.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience developing applications in Python.
• At least 2 years of experience working with web APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• EU citizenship or a valid work permit for the Netherlands.
• Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases, specifically Postgres.
• Working knowledge of Linux, git, and command-line interfaces.
• Proficiency in HTTP and related web technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with asyncio and concurrent applications.
• Knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
• DevOps mindset and experience with CI/CD cycles.
• Familiarity with the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo).
