TL;DR

Senior Systems Engineer (AI): Leading the design, modernization, and governance of enterprise information systems for federal and corporate clients with an accent on data architecture, compliance, and AI-enabled solutions. Focus on bridging strategic program management with technical execution, implementing data rights frameworks, and ensuring CMMC 2.0 and ISO 27001 compliance.

Location: Must be based in Arlington, VA

What you will do

Lead end-to-end data modeling across relational and hybrid environments.
Design scalable data architectures and integration strategies for system modernization.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies and manage project delivery using PMP best practices.
Implement enterprise data governance frameworks, quality metrics, and lineage tracking.
Operationalize AI data governance, including audit support and agentic workflows.
Mentor junior and mid-level technical teams on engineering and delivery excellence.

Requirements

Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
15+ years of experience in systems engineering or enterprise architecture.
Active PMP and Agile Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, or SAFe).
Experience with CMMC 2.0, ISO 27001, and SharePoint governance.
Experience with AI prompt engineering and custom GPT development.

Nice to have

Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Background leading multi-year federal IT programs.
Familiarity with DoD CDAO AI strategy and Responsible AI principles.
Active DoD Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance.
