Lead Systems Engineer

TL;DR

Lead Systems Engineer: Representing the engineering team, planning Agile Development commitments, and driving technology roadmaps for a mission-critical customer in Reston, VA with an accent on AWS cloud services, Elastic, RHEL, WSUS, and cross-domain integration and automation. Focus on planning staffing, software licensing, and hosting capacity for roadmap projects and capabilities, as well as supervising a team of engineers.

Location: Full time on-site in Reston, VA.

What you will do

• Represent the engineering team in customer meetings.
• Plan quarterly Agile Development Planning commitments.
• Drive technology roadmaps.
• Work with the hirify.global Program Manager to accelerate customer priorities.
• Mentor senior, mid-level, and junior engineers.
• Plan/estimate staffing, software licensing, and hosting capacity for roadmap projects and capabilities.

Requirements

• Clearance: SCI Eligible, willing to obtain polygraph
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field
• Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications (CompTIA CySA+ preferred or equivalent) within 30 days of contract start.
• 8-12 Years of relevant technical experience.
• At least 4 years of experience leading AWS Cloud development modernization, monitoring, and support and production delivery.
• At least 4 years of experience leading Linux development engineering and production delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and regular interaction with Contractor Program Manager and Government Leadership.

Nice to have

• Desired Clearance : Active SCI with Polygraph
• Desired Education : Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related technical field
• Desired Certifications : Active CompTIA CySA+ or equivalent certifications covering both DoD 8570 IAT II and CSSP Infrastructure Support. Computing Environment certification such as AWS or Linux certifications.
• 12 years of relevant technical experience.
• 4 years of experience designing and deploying Elastic data services.
