What you will do

• Define and lead discovery chemistry strategy, including synthetic innovation and molecular design optimization.
• Collaborate with AI, computational, and automation teams to integrate robotic synthesis workflows.
• Oversee the design and execution of complex synthetic routes for diverse, high-value small molecules.
• Implement data-driven experimental workflows for compound prioritization and iterative design–make–test cycles.
• Establish best practices for chemistry data integrity, quality control, and experimental reproducibility.
• Mentor and develop high-performing multidisciplinary scientific teams.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in small molecule discovery and molecular design.
• Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing scientific teams in an industrial setting.
• Deep expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, retrosynthesis, and multistep synthesis execution.
• Strong background in multiparameter optimization and advancing compounds through discovery phases.
• Experience effectively navigating interdisciplinary environments and collaborating across chemistry, biology, and computational functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled discovery or integrating machine learning into chemistry workflows.
• Background in scaling automated or high-throughput chemistry platforms.
• Technical proficiency in modern synthesis-enabling technologies and instrumentation.
