What you will do

• Build and maintain backend features for the Stays team, focusing on search, booking, and third-party integrations.
• Improve the performance and reliability of existing high-throughput systems.
• Design, integrate, and maintain connections with internal and external APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver features.

Requirements

• Strong Java development skills.
• Experience designing APIs and high-performance backend services.
• Familiarity with relational databases like MySQL and protocols such as HTTP, XML, and JSON.
• Must be able to work from the Cambridge/Concord, MA office at least 3 days per week.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spring, Git, Redis, or Kafka.
• Background in working on search, booking, or high-throughput systems.
