Skills Proposition Lead (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Bristol, Halifax, Edinburgh or Leeds, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office site

Salary: £78,098–£101,068 per year

What you will do

• Own the Group skills vision, strategy and framework, aligning senior stakeholders around future capability needs.
• Define and embed a future-focused skills taxonomy and AI-aligned job architecture in partnership with organisation effectiveness and people teams.
• Lead the development proposition and colleague experience, including skills academies, personalised pathways, campaigns and nudges.
• Design and deploy skilling and reskilling propositions that address strategic capability gaps, support internal mobility and improve talent density.
• Work with the People Data Hub to develop a skills data lake that informs workforce planning, colleague journeys and proficiency improvement.
• Set learning culture metrics, measure proposition impact, manage content providers and embed agile ways of working.

Requirements

• Experience shaping organisational thinking and securing senior stakeholder commitment to skills as a driver of organisational success.
• Ability to design and deliver skills development solutions across the full colleague career journey.
• Strong commercial judgement and ability to turn internal and external information into actionable insight.
• Creative approach to simplifying, automating and modernising through experimentation and external insight.
• Data-driven decision-making skills, including interpreting data and translating it into practical recommendations.
