What you will do

• Develop and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for custom batteries, including lithium-ion and next-gen technologies.
• Serve as the primary commercial owner for battery tech, aligning cell selection and pack architecture with hardware and firmware requirements.
• Lead RFQ processes, cost modeling, and complex contract negotiations with global suppliers.
• Drive supplier governance through structured performance reviews focused on capacity, quality, and cost competitiveness.
• Manage battery lifecycle execution from early architecture design through mass production and sustaining phases.
• Act as the lead decision-maker for pricing, supply trade-offs, and long-term roadmap positioning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement specifically focused on battery components for consumer electronics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, or related Supply Chain field.
• Deep understanding of battery cost structures, should-cost modeling, and current industry trends.
• Proven ability to manage supplier partnerships and navigate contract negotiations in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• Must be able to work on-site in San Francisco 3 days per week.
