What you will do
- Serve as technical lead for social graph modeling, storage, and computation systems.
- Architect and scale graph databases to support billions of nodes with low-latency performance.
- Build and optimize pipelines for ingesting and transforming massive social and behavioral datasets.
- Collaborate with ML teams to productionize graph features including GNN-powered rankings and similarity metrics.
- Define strategy for leveraging graph topology to improve platform trust, safety, and personalization.
- Mentor engineers on graph design, distributed systems, and ML integration best practices.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to relocate to San Francisco, CA.
- 8+ years of industry experience with significant time at senior, staff, or principal levels.
- Expert-level experience with graph databases and graph query systems.
- Deep understanding of graph theory, algorithms, and graph-based data structures.
- Proven track record designing high-scale pipelines using distributed streaming frameworks like Kafka or Flink.
- Experience productionizing graph-derived features for recommendation or trust and safety systems.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Graph Neural Networks (GNN) and graph embeddings.
- Background in large-scale social networks or marketplaces.
- Experience with real-time graph updates.
