Security Architect (Cybersecurity)

Location: Fully onsite in Hampton, Virginia, at Joint Base Langley-Eustis / Langley Air Force Base

Salary: $185,000–$195,000 annually

What you will do

• Design and implement enterprise-grade security architecture aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses, prioritize risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, standards, procedures, and secure configuration baselines.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and management stakeholders to integrate security across the SDLC and operational processes.
• Lead or support incident response planning, exercises, breach investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• High school education with 10+ years of experience or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of complex IT systems, networks, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and other security technologies.
• Experience with STIGs, ACAS, HBSS/Trellix, vulnerability management, and secure configuration baselines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex security concepts to varied stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with DoD networks, including NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS.
• DoD 8140 IAM Level III certification, such as CISSP, CISM, or CCISO.
• Strategic security architecture experience and adaptability to evolving cybersecurity threats.
