What you will do

• Execute structured system validation test plans to ensure firmware reliability and cloud connectivity.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python to run against physical hardware in the HIL lab.
• Perform exploratory testing on new features focusing on streaming, latency, and image quality.
• Triage field bugs by physically reproducing network and environmental edge cases in the lab.
• Analyze device logs via SSH and serial console to provide actionable root-cause data to developers.
• Monitor device telemetry to identify performance degradations before deployment.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, CA.
• 2–4+ years of experience in system test, validation, or automation for embedded systems or consumer hardware.
• Solid scripting proficiency in Python for API interaction and log parsing.
• Experience navigating Embedded Linux environments via CLI.
• Practical knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, PoE) and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools like multimeters and serial debug cables.

Nice to have

• Experience with video streaming protocols (RTSP, WebRTC, H.264/H.265).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Knowledge of camera hardware concepts like ISP pipelines and image sensors.
