What you will do

• Lead and develop a team operating core APM retrieval services that power traces and spans search.
• Define technical direction for the APM MCP Toolset and interfaces supporting agentic workflows.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with storage, frontend, and AI teams to prioritize high-impact capabilities.
• Establish and measure success through performance KPIs like token efficiency, performance, and reliability.
• Own the operational excellence of critical services, including those in ITAR-compliant environments.
• Mentor engineers through hands-on leadership, clear accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineering teams building backend or platform systems at scale.
• Technical depth in distributed systems, APIs, service operations, and production reliability.
• Experience operating observability platforms with clear quality and performance goals.
• Ability to translate emerging AI trends into pragmatic team direction.
• Track record of driving cross-team prioritization across multiple stakeholders.
• Must be eligible for US government authorizations to conform to export control regulations.
