TL;DR

Economic Security and Strategic Engagement Analyst (National Security): Providing interdisciplinary qualitative and quantitative analyses of industrial base economic issues with an accent on foreign investment risks and supply chain resilience. Focus on building realistic wargaming scenarios, drafting DoD policy directives, and delivering executive-level briefings for senior Department of Defense leadership.

Location: Must be based in Alexandria, VA (Onsite)

What you will do

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research on microeconomic and macroeconomic elements of the industrial base.
  • Support the Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate by analyzing foreign investment transactions and economic risks.
  • Develop and execute wargame scenarios based on intelligence and operational requirements.
  • Draft DoD Directives and Instructions related to supply chain resilience and risk review methodologies.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and briefings for senior leadership and allied partners.
  • Participate in working groups focused on mitigating national security risks.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, or National Security.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in economic security and strategic engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform cost-benefit analysis and identify business risks.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with senior DoD and USG officials.
  • Ability to prepare executive-level reports and perform requirements analysis.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in International Affairs, Diplomacy, Economics, or related field.
  • Previous experience operating within the Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES).
  • Proven capability to manage projects independently from concept to completion.
