What you will do

• Act as a primary contact for regulatory authorities during investigations and policy consultations.
• Manage privacy compliance, including records of processing activities, impact assessments, and data retention policies.
• Iterate the local privacy strategy and fulfill all statutory DPO-related tasks under GDPR.
• Proactively identify data protection issues and provide pragmatic remedies for product and commercial teams.
• Conduct regular internal privacy compliance audits and deliver stakeholder training.
• Monitor legislative changes and maintain an active network with external privacy experts and industry bodies.

Requirements

• German law degree (2. Staatsexamen or equivalent) required.
• Multi-year experience in data protection and previous role as a Data Protection Officer (DPO).
• Professional proficiency in both German and English.
• Strong understanding of AI and data-driven technologies and their associated privacy implications.
• Experience working within a law firm and in-house, ideally in online platforms or ad tech.
• Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills for diverse audiences.

Nice to have

• CIPP or equivalent privacy qualification.
