What you will do
- Lead and develop 6-8 team leads and engineering managers through 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development.
- Own department-level operations, including Jira configuration, delivery metrics, and capacity planning.
- Drive organizational design, role clarity, and cross-team coordination to ensure consistent process execution.
- Act as the primary people-leadership layer, owning the hiring, onboarding, and retention of technical management roles.
- Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to automate reporting, status updates, and management analysis.
- Partner with the Department Director to turn strategic product goals into actionable team-level objectives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing team leads or engineering managers in a remote-first environment.
- Solid engineering background in domains like Linux, scripting, or application security.
- English: Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher proficiency required.
- Strong expertise in Agile, Scrum, and maintaining delivery visibility at scale via Jira.
- Proven ability to manage performance, career frameworks, and organizational structure.
- Experience using AI tools to increase operational efficiency and communication transparency.
Nice to have
- Experience in security, CVE, or lifecycle support/patching domains.
- Background in driving AI adoption initiatives across technical teams.
- Previous familiarity with hirify.global products or TuxCare services.
