Software Development Manager (AI): Leading and growing a team responsible for building AI-powered search products for legal professionals with an accent on secure, trustworthy, and innovative AI solutions at scale. Focus on collaborating with the triad to identify impactful opportunities and actively contributing to project design and code reviews.

Location: This role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum twice per week on one of our Anchor Days.

Salary: The expected salary range for this role is $176,000 to $264,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Collaborate with your triad to understand business challenges and craft a team roadmap.
• Work with your team on designing technical architectures and solutions.
• Provide feedback on code reviews and architecture documents.
• Actively participate as a contributor to the project, either through code reviews or shipping code.
• Conduct 1:1 meetings with direct reports to support career growth and development goals.
• Actively participate in hiring to grow the engineering team at hirify.global.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success in people leadership in software development, particularly with large scale SaaS products.
• A strong background in hands-on software development.
• Diverse base of knowledge that allows you to help your team solve complex technical problems.
• The ability to describe successful projects you worked on, as well as lessons learned from failed projects.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, develop, and retain engineering talent.
• Growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI.

• Experience with implementing large scale search systems.
• A philosophy on what makes for great software development teams.
• Experience with CRM products at scale.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
