What you will do

• Build and ship production software for sensing algorithms to create reliable end-to-end systems.
• Own key parts of the Python shipping pipeline, including integration surfaces and evaluation hooks.
• Develop embedded software in an RTOS environment like Zephyr and deploy models to hardware accelerators.
• Optimize real-time on-device perception loops for stability, latency, power, and memory constraints.
• Create data collection and instrumentation tooling to accelerate prototype-to-device iteration.
• Partner cross-functionally with algorithms, firmware, and hardware teams to harden systems against real-world variability.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to relocate to San Francisco, CA.
• Strong experience shipping production Python systems with a focus on maintainability and clean interfaces.
• Deep understanding of embedded or on-device software development and hardware application layers.
• Experience with performance engineering, profiling, and optimizing code under tight device constraints.
• Ability to debug across hardware, firmware, and high-level application layers.
• Experience translating complex algorithm prototypes into reliable pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr or similar RTOS environments.
• Expertise in on-device ML deployment (NPU/GPU/DSP) and accelerator-aware profiling.
• Background in multimodal sensing, sensor fusion, or on-device perception.
• Experience building data collection systems and human-in-the-loop workflows.
