Manager, Application Security (AI): Leading the Purple Team to perform offensive and defensive security operations for a high-growth legal AI platform with an accent on application security, threat modeling, and AI-specific vulnerability research. Focus on scaling security infrastructure, building offensive tooling, and collaborating with product teams to embed security across the development lifecycle.

Location: Remote in Canada (excluding Quebec). Hybrid attendance required at least twice per week for employees in Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Dublin, and Sydney.

Salary: $176,000 – $264,000 CAD.

What you will do

• Lead, hire, and mentor a team of security engineers within a Purple Team environment.
• Perform penetration testing and threat modeling, dedicating at least 50% of time to hands-on technical security work.
• Develop offensive and defensive automation tooling to turn security findings into scalable systems.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to consult on security risks before new features launch.
• Assess AI-powered features for LLM-specific attack vectors and leverage AI tooling to enhance security coverage.
• Lead security incident response, manage the Bug Bounty program, and participate in M&A security due diligence.

Requirements

• Must be based in Canada (excluding Quebec).
• Proven experience as a security leader with a background in software development.
• Strong understanding of web, API, and cloud security environments.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Python, or Django.
• Experience with offensive security research, red teaming, or AI/LLM security testing.
• Ability to drive security knowledge and awareness across cross-functional departments.

Nice to have

• Security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, or CRTO.
• Experience working with full-stack developers in a high-scale SaaS environment.
