What you will do
- Harden login and registration flows using risk-based controls such as rate limiting, behavioral signals, and automated mitigation.
- Partner with Security and Engineering teams to identify and remediate abuse.
- Develop internal Trust & Safety tooling to centralize risk signals, improve investigation workflows, and automate enforcement actions.
- Create and productionize abuse detection logic by translating adversarial patterns into scalable signals and engineering controls.
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in the United States or British Columbia/Ontario, Canada.
- 5–8 years of software engineering experience, including 2–3 years in trust & safety, security engineering, or fraud/abuse prevention.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Cloudflare), data pipelines, and querying large datasets.
- Familiarity with rate limiting, fingerprinting, bot detection, observability, metrics, and alerting tools.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Strong understanding of risk-based authentication, abuse detection heuristics, and adversarial behavior.
- Experience working across security, product, and data teams.
- Interest in emerging technologies like AI.
