Engineering Manager (Distributed Systems)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of developers to deliver complex, cross-functional projects.
• Architect and scale high-performance distributed systems, including KV stores, caching layers, and data ingestion platforms.
• Influence long-term technical roadmap and strategy for the Online Data organization.
• Collaborate with internal product teams to optimize the use of data infrastructure.
• Raise operational standards and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

Requirements

• 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Must be based in the United States in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
• Proven track record of leading and mentoring engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, multi-tenant storage, and infrastructure.
• Strong judgment on technical trade-offs and ability to drive cross-team alignment.
