Location: Hybrid work in multiple US locations including San Jose, Bellevue, Boulder, Cranberry Township, and Morrisville, with in-office and in-person expectations.

Salary: $120,000 - $280,000 (On Target Earnings)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and enhance features within ONTAP and related storage systems using C/C++.
• Analyze and improve code paths for performance, scalability, and correctness.
• Debug complex system-level issues using advanced tools and collaborate across engineering teams.
• Participate in design and code reviews, driving engineering best practices.
• Support prototyping, research, and feasibility analysis for new features.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States with ability to work hybrid in specified office locations.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and systems-level development on Unix/Linux.
• Experience with filesystems, storage systems, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures.
• Excellent debugging and performance analysis skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with ONTAP, WAFL, NFS, SMB, SAN, NVMe protocols, replication, clustering, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of kernel subsystems, IO schedulers, caching, and media management.
• Familiarity with distributed systems design and large-scale performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation.
