Senior Software Engineer - Accounting

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid)

What you will do

• Work with product managers to understand client requirements and refine product specifications through design iterations.
• Develop new Geneva product features iteratively according to product specifications and agile principles.
• Maintain existing functionality by fixing internally and externally reported issues.
• Work on client escalations and operational problems.
• Collaborate with QA while features and bug fixes move through testing.

Requirements

• Experience with compiled, object-oriented programming languages; C++ is preferred.
• Experience using Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Experience using Linux debugging tools such as gdb.
• Experience developing enterprise software backends.

Nice to have

• Experience working in or supporting the financial industry.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Understanding and experience using agentic AI harnesses such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Strong numerical sensitivity, analytical and level-headed thinking, curiosity, persistence, teamwork, and communication skills.
