Senior Software Engineer - Accounting (C++)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States — hybrid

Salary: USD 140,000–160,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus and/or equity awards.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain functionality for an enterprise portfolio accounting product.
• Work with product managers to understand client requirements and refine product specifications.
• Build new features iteratively according to product specifications and agile principles.
• Fix internally and externally reported issues and handle client escalations.
• Collaborate with QA during feature and bug-fix testing.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with compiled, object-oriented programming languages; C++ is preferred.
• Experience developing the backend of enterprise software.
• Experience using Linux or Unix operating systems.
• Experience with Linux debugging tools such as gdb.
• Financial industry experience and an understanding of basic accounting principles are strongly preferred.
• Experience with agentic AI harnesses such as Claude Code or Codex is preferred.
