What you will do

• Lead design and development of scalable backend APIs and services integrating with IBM Cloud
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, and Partner teams to design intuitive and maintainable interfaces
• Guide evolution of managed service capabilities in cloud environments, focusing on IBM Cloud
• Influence long-term architecture and technical direction for IBM Cloud integrations
• Champion quality, simplicity, and clarity in system and API design
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, mentorship, and raising engineering standards

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Italy, Spain, or Serbia
• Experience designing and building distributed backend systems and APIs
• Knowledge of cloud fundamentals and ability to ramp on IBM Cloud specifics
• Experience with IAM and access patterns (OAuth/OIDC, JWT, RBAC); IBM Cloud IAM is a plus
• Familiarity with SaaS operations and Kubernetes
• Development experience in Java, Go, or similar languages
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases
• English: Proficiency required (B2+)

Nice to have

• Interest in Cloud Security domains (CSPM/CDR/CIEM)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization
