What you will do

• Implement and optimize core vector and information-retrieval components like HNSW, quantization, filtering, and re-ranking
• Improve performance-critical paths for latency, throughput, and resource efficiency
• Solve real-world problems at scale, focusing on correctness, reliability, and maintainability
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and collaboration with Core, Cloud, and Support teams
• Apply systems-level optimizations such as memory layout, concurrency, and SIMD with mentorship

Requirements

• Solid production experience (typically 3–5+ years) building backend, systems, or infrastructure software
• Background in search/IR/vector systems or systems programming (storage, performance-critical services)
• Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust with experience writing concurrent and performant code
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break down tasks and designs with guidance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Nice to have

• Familiarity with hirify.global or other NoSQL databases
• Exposure to vector search, IR concepts, or ML-adjacent systems
• Experience with Rust (or strong interest in learning it)
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience working on multithreaded or performance-sensitive systems
