Legal Counsel

TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Legaltech): Providing comprehensive legal support for a fast-growing tech company, with an accent on commercial matters, product development, and contract negotiations across European and UK regions. Focus on advising cross-functional teams, managing legal risks, and improving internal legal operations.

Location: This is a hybrid role. The successful candidate will be based in or near Amsterdam and will work in our Amsterdam office for part of the working week.

What you will do

• Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including customer, vendor, licensing, and strategic partnership agreements.
• Provide legal support and guidance on e-commerce, consumer protection, and privacy issues.
• Support special projects in areas such as regulatory compliance and cybersecurity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and manage legal risks effectively.
• Conduct legal workshops and trainings for employees.
• Assist with designing, building, and improving internal legal operations and processes.

Requirements

• Master of Law from a reputable university or law school.
• 6+ years of commercial legal experience, either as in-house counsel at a fast-paced company or at a top-tier corporate law firm.
• Deep expertise in contract law, with extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Solid knowledge of European e-commerce, consumer protection, and privacy laws.
• Full professional fluency in English and German (both written and spoken) is required.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in Dutch or other languages.
• Affinity for technology and leveraging tools like AI, Google Suite, and Slack.
