Vice President (Fintech)

TL;DR

Vice President (Fintech): Developing and implementing tax-efficient products and supporting client engagement around tax efficiencies across AWM’s alternatives complex globally with an accent on private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate funds. Focus on partnership taxation, international tax, fund structure, and other tax / regulatory requirements specific to the asset management industry.

What you will do

• Lead Asia tax practice as Head of ASG for Asia.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize fund investors’ tax positions.
• Advise on tax implications of new products and structures within AWM.
• Quantitatively model various tax planning proposals/strategies.
• Explain tax benefits and concepts to AWM investment, fundraising, and client relationship teams.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of post-qualification experience as a tax attorney, tax accountant, or in-house tax practitioner with strong tax structuring experience.
• Deep Japan tax experience is required; working tax experience in other key jurisdictions is strongly preferred (e.g. Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia).
• Preferred sector exposure is private markets funds (especially private equity, private credit and real assets products).
• Native level in Japanese language, with strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong quantitative, analytical & modeling skills preferred.
• Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
